ALC/PAL Writing Competition Makes Florida Bar News
Florida A&M law student Kara Graham was recently named the winner of the third annual 2015 Law Student Animal Law Legal Writing Competition. Graham’s article, "Cooling Down Florida’s Coast: Saving East Central and Southeast Florida’s Sea Turtles From Impacts of Climate Change," calls for the expansion of Federal and Florida conservation goals. Although current legislation does maintain sea turtle populations despite climate changes, Graham urges that legislation goals be expanded to also include aiding sea turtles to adapt to coastal-climate stressors. The writing competition is presented by the FSU Law Chapter of the Student Animal Legal Defense Fund and is co-sponsored by Pets Ad Litem, Inc. and The Florida Bar Animal Law Committee. Congrats Kara!
